During a week in February we were  cruising down Highway 95 from Vegas to Laughlin and Judy observed a sign pointing out a side road to CHRISTMAS TREE PASS !!!!!!!!!!! She remembered Kenny and Zelma our Lucas County, Ia. neighbors mentioning how scenic the area was. Soooooooooo, needless to say we had to check this out. ( Now for the rest of the story.)

Can you tell we have continued to climb for over 12 miles and the road seems to vanish regularly.

Road_and_no_road.jpg
We still had about 6 miles of the listed 25miles to travel. It's 4:00 pacific time. 5:00 is sun set.

We really found it to be beautiful up here in the late afternoon.

We called this standing Rock. A flat rock was balanced on a vertival rock in the middle of the pic.
